WTF News: 8-Year-Old Gets Scalped by Bullies on School Bus

Posted by | Posted in Da Game and Industry News | Posted on 31-10-2013

This is terrible. An elementary school girl in Atlanta got parts of her scalp pulled off in a school bus attack by bullies. The girl’s attackers yanked her tracks out of her head and in some parts took some flesh too. Doctors had to shave the girl’s head and now, her hair may never grow back in some spots. Hip-Hop Rumors: Could The NYPD Be Guilty In Barney’s Profiling Cases?

Posted by | Posted in Da Game and Industry News | Posted on 31-10-2013

So, this is partially off the record, since it lies within the doldrums of the rumors. But, here is what I am hearing regarding the profiling case. Guess what? The NYPD – world renown for their profiling ways – may be the actual culprit in this case. Jay Z MAY have been damn right. There was a meeting today with The Rev. Al Sharpton, National Action Network, the CEO of Barney’s and some reps from Jay’s camp too. And it seems that Barney’s said that nobody in their store called the police. So, therefore, are going to give the side eye to 5-0.

The ill Prince side eye at that.

Eff it. Give em the ill Michonne “chop yo’ head off side eye!”

That said, I heard the meeting was productive overall. But, the work continues in that Rev. Sharpton is meeting with Macy’s tomorrow, because they too have a similar case in the pot. On top of that, he’s looking to meet with the NYPD and the heads of at the same time to discuss racial profiling. There will be marches and rallies before you can say “Black Friday,” from what I’m hearing. That said, the NYPD are in the hot seat for real. Never forget they have an actual policy to stop and frisk Black people.

That cop is actually Boston PD. LOL.

VH1′s original movie, ‘CRAZY SEXY COOL: THE TLC STORY’ not only broke records for the network when it premiered last week, but it caused a firestorm of sorts for many of the people portrayed on screen.

Without a doubt, the one person who was at the brunt of widespread ridicule was one of the key figures behind the record selling girl group, former singer turned executive Perri “Pebbles” Reid.

Using social media, the 46 year-old discounted her portrayal in the film and tweeted on many different instances that the movie contained “lies” and that she couldn’t believe what Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas were saying about her during their promo press run.

Welp! After days of radio silence, Pebbles has officially spoken out with a statement she tweeted out to 50,000+ followers. Read it in full below:

First I want to thank all of you for the well wishes and prayers. I apologize for the delay in responding to the movie, but I wanted to gather my thoughts. I have always been a private person and this unprovoked attack has been extremely upsetting to me and my family. I have needed time to spend with my family and for personal reflection.

The movie contains many false and defamatory statements and scenes about me. Please know that I have never cheated or mislead anyone. I will defend my reputation, accomplishments, and character. My attorney is in the process of demanding a retraction of the false and defamatory statements and scenes about me from VH1.

My silence has empowered individuals looking for a payday at my expense. I have held my peace for 20 years and it’s time the truth comes out. I will be sharing my story in the appropriate venue at the appropriate time. With all my heart I thank you for your faithful support.

I am extremely proud of the success and massive accomplishments of TLC—the group I discovered, managed, and mentored. I helped push open doors for TLC and other women in this male dominated industry. My sacrifices ultimately opened the door for not only a new wave of female performers in this industry but also a new generation of female executives. That backdrop makes the movie extremely personally upsetting to me.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Kanye West [Still] Got Beef With The Obamas?

Posted by | Posted in Da Game and Industry News | Posted on 30-10-2013

kanye west kim kardashian obama diss over lifestyle
I thought Kanye lost his mind when he said that Kim Kardashian is more influential than the First Lady of the Free World Michelle Obama.

He told Ryan Seacrest:

“There’s no way Kim Kardashian shouldn’t be on the cover of Vogue. She’s like the most intriguing woman right now. She’s got Barbara Walters calling her like everyday.”

But, here is the buzz on the comment, where he said Kim trumps Michelle Obama (who is on the cover). Kanye West is still allegedly and rumored to be very TIGHT over when the president called him a “jackass” and really has no love for the first fam anymore.

Kanye West replied to the act saying, “I don’t give a f**k what the president’s got to say.”

YEP…there’s is definitely friction. Maybe they should both take it to the streets of The Chi since it seems there’s so much fighting going on there any way…

Back to that cover…

Epic Fail of the Day: Church Looks Like Giant Penis on Google Earth

Posted by | Posted in Da Game and Industry News | Posted on 30-10-2013

Architects behind the design of the Christian Science Society in Dixon, Illinoisdidn’t think their design all the way through. The church looks seemingly normal on the ground but from Google Earth it looks like a big ol’ giant penis. And get this, the church’s slogan is “rising up.”

Officials at the church seem to be taking it in stride though as someone tweeted the following:

Songbird on the rise, Yuna Zarai, is ready to spread her wings on her sophomore album offering of Nocturnal. Picking up where she left off with her self-titled debut and Sixth Street EP, Yuna presents a body of work with lush vocal harmonies and honest songwriting which she is becoming to be known for. The album’s eleven tracks (fourteen on the deluxe edition) feature production in the likes of Chad Hugo of the Neptunes (“Someone Who Can”) and Robin Hannibal of Quadron (“Falling”), but the key here is that the sound across the board is uniquely Yuna, blending soul, R&B, folk, electronic, and native Malaysian sounds for a diverse genre of pop.

Seldom do we find a cohesive body of work both sonically and content-wise from such a young artist, and Yuna does this, fearless in expressing emotions that as a generation, we often suppress.

There are many songs that tell stories of love and love lost, but not in a place of malice or ill-intent. A perfect instance of such is the song “Someone Who Can”. She sings “you didn’t really play your part well, I’ll find someone who can,” expressing her disappointment for a former love in a forward-thinking light. There are tales of being in a space of growth, but needing a bit of downtime to fully manifest it all (“Escape”), and an honest take on the human side of fame and being in the spotlight (“Lights and Camera”).

The simplest way to describe “Nocturnal” in one word is refreshing. It is refreshing to hear music and lyrics that are honest and eye-opening at the same time, in a realm (pop music) where we so often speak down to certain groups of people on a record. Aside from the aforementioned songs, key tracks include “I Want You Back,” and “Rescue.” The album in entirety is completely listenable from front to back, and above all, relatable, for listeners of all ages.

Stay tuned for our exclusive sit-down interview with the talented songbird!

Bethenny Frankel brought out guest star, Omarosa Manigault, in her latest airing of Bethenny. The “Celebrity Apprentice” veteran, who’s never been one to hold her tongue, had quite a mouthful to say about white privilege in their line of business.

It’s different for you and I. I’m an African American woman. You get to walk around and be mediocre and you still get rewarded with things. We have to be exceptional to get anything in this business.

Upon the audience’s uproar, Omarosa went on to talk about the brand that she’s built for herself and why she’s been able to stick around for 10 plus years.

I think it’s important to understand you don’t stay on for a decade in reality TV without being smart and creating a brand people want to see. If the audience didn’t want to see Omarosa they would never book me again, which is why you booked me on your show today. There’s a brand there, a commodity something of value.

Catch Bethenny’s outrage and more of the talk show beef in the video segment up top and Part 2 down below!
